“WATER”
Milan (Italy) 2023
Proposing to nine designers to conceive an object/sculpture using exclusively borosilicate glass as a material: this is the project conceived by Marta Sansoni and Andrea Ponsi presented at the Antonia Jannone gallery during the Design Week of the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2023. The only restrictions given to the designers: no color and size of the works that fit into an abstract cube of 40 x 40 x 40 cm. Another protagonist of the project was Massimo Lunardon, a prestigious master glassmaker from Vicenza. The presentation of the works, accompanied by the writings of the curators and the design historian Enrico Morteo, gave rise to a book edited by the publishing house Metilene of Pistoia. The designers who were involved in the project are: Lorenzo Damiani, Giulio Iacchetti, Raffaella Mangiarotti, Massimo Mariani, Andrea Ponsi, Lorenzo Palmeri, Franco Raggi, Marta Sansoni and Mario Trimarchi.
